Welcome to my Comic Shop Tour!

One new section I’ve finally added to the blog (an overdue addition at the time) is my Comic Shop Tour. This is a gallery of the comic shops I’ve visited across the country. Some years back, I began taking pictures of the store fronts of every new comic shop I got to visit. For the YouTube side of it, you can find my comic shop tour videos here.

The pictures, however, only existed on my hard drive, for the most part. I did share some on Facebook, Twitter, etc., but not consistently. With the upgrade from the site transition, all that’s a thing of the past. I’ve finally brought it over to share my comic shop adventures.

Since I started this, there have only been a few states I’ve set foot in where I didn’t get to check out a shop. One of those was California. You’ll see I was able to rectify my previous San Diego trip and hit up two stores.

Overall, I’ve been to comic shops in 15 states. It’s interesting to see the variety of styles and setups at different stores. Are they focused on new comics, back issues or a mix of both? Do they carry manga? Is it just comics and collectibles? Or do they cater to gaming (table-top and card)? How’s the atmosphere? How’s the lighting in each store? Are they organized?

Even when I travel with a group, I’m all about hitting at least one LCS. And if I can see more, I certainly will. Comic Shop Locator and Google Maps are your friends, people.
