IDW Artist’s Editions Still Half Off!

In a massive win for comic art fans, IDW’s sale on Artist’s Edition books is still going. This is not a prank, people. You can score some of these beautifully crafted gems for half off. Showcasing art by some of the comic world’s most highly regarded artists, these books done well in increasing the overall artistic literacy in the comic space. I’ve continually recommended these for comic fans who enjoy diving into the art and seeing how it looks before it fully comes to life.

Initially, I believed this sale would last only a short while. As a fan, I certainly won’t complain. Also note that while the discounted price doesn’t show on the sale page or any of the product detail pages, it does activate when the items are in your cart. The two I ordered were originally $150. Getting two art books by talented storytellers for the price of one is an incredible deal.

I did not hesitate to take advantage and ordered them. Those were Jim Lee’s X-Men and Frank Miller’s Daredevil. Adding them to my collection, as seen above, of the Dave Cockrum, John Byrne and Paul Smith’s X-Men Artist’s Editions. Additional images provided to give you an idea of how they look internally.

My experiences with purchases and shipping from IDW have been nothing but positive. Navigating their website isn’t a problem. Shipping was free and quick. For this sale, I ordered on a Friday evening and received the books the following Wednesday and Thursday. They were packaged in a box within a box for full protection during shipping. As someone who’s been ordering comics and comic related items online for over 20 years, I can say that level of care isn’t always guaranteed.

My previous purchase from them, Dave Cockrum’s X-Men Artist’s Edition, was handled in a similar fashion. One outlier was the John Byrne book. I scored that one from one of my favorite comic shops, Jay’s Comics in Illinois. The other, by Paul Smith, was pre-ordered through MyComicShop.com.

By the numbers: 4. That’s the number of times I typed “Artist’s Edition” in this post.
