From Image Comics:

“MINISERIES PREMIERE From PATRICK KINDLON (GEHENNA) and EPHK (HARPY). A group of down-on-their-luck actresses are kidnapped to an island prison run by a sadistic female warden. Working together is their only chance of escape, but trust issues abound! Action-adventure inspired by exploitation films. Ridiculously fun. Seriously sexy.”

My take:

I’ve wanted to check out Tigress Island for a couple reasons. First, though not specific to this book, I frequently look into new indie series. The industry is never short on talent or ideas. As such, there are always new books brought into the indie space to intrigue fans. I’m no stranger to the ones involving action and adventure. Based on the synopsis and art provided, it certainly has my attention.

Speaking of art, that’s where the rest of my interest lies. EPHK’s style, in everything I’ve seen, looks exactly like the sort of comic I’d read. From the line work to the layouts shown in the preview pages, it’s just a cool looking book. I’m also curious how EPHK’s storytelling skills flow, page to page, in the context of the full issue.

I already have plans to hit some comic shops this week and those plans include grabbing a copy of this first issue. Or several, because the fan and collector in me is eyeing at least two of those covers.

Have you heard about Tigress Island? Where does your interest level sit with this new title?
