Comic Creators at C2E2 2023
Though the universe in its infinite wisdom attempted to put a wrench in my convention weekend fun with some outside elements, it ultimately failed as I had another wonderful weekend at C2E2. This serves as a brief recap highlighting the interactions with some comic creators I had in Artist Alley.
With the return of physical programs (thank you, C2E2 Team!), I was able to return to one of my favorite comic convention activities: getting a copy signed by comic creators. Meeting the people who bring those precious comics to life is one of the best aspects of any comic convention.
This year, I had the pleasure of seeing and talking to both Dustin Nguyen and Jenny Frison again. Dustin was also extra kind and did a Batman sketch for me. I didn't get a picture with Jenny, but here's the one from when we first met a couple C2E2s ago. Cool people and fantastic creators.
Full transparency here, I'm not 100% sure I haven't met Charles Soule and Zeb Wells before. I may have met both at past C2E2s.
First time meetings included two incredibly talented individuals, Dan Mora and Marcio Takara.
Had I more time, there were some other names I would've been more than happy to add to my signed program. It became an instant favorite of mine when I started it years ago when I didn't always bring comics for some creators to sign. Also, if the programs share the dimensions of a modern comic or smaller, we certainly wouldn't mind. Just some food for thought, convention organizers.
